Conditions:

  • Invader Zed Augment
  • BIS Zed
  • Ability to reach level 9

How to Play:

  • Gameplan: The spots to play this comp are rare as this augment is only offered on 3-2. Only play this if you have a spot with strong tempo and think you can get to level 9. Zed is a traitless unit that needs BIS to be consistent. Since Zed is traitless the only way to reliably buff him is strong 5 cost aura effects. This comp also wants to see an early Graves as that is the highest capping duo carry. Any duo carry can work with Zed.
    • Stage 1-2: You can’t plan for this comp on stage 1 or 2. You generally get to play this from a strong tempo opener. It’s not advisable to slam Zed items at this point. Make what you have as long as it win streaks you because this comp needs HP to get to 9. NOVA boards can reliably buff Zed and provide a strong opener.
    • Stage 3: Take Zed’s Augment on 3-2 and start looking for his items. Edge of Night and 1 Shojin are 100% necessary so if that’s not realistic do not click this.
    • Stage 4: Level on 4-2 and look for a 4 cost tank before they’re all out of the pool. You can be flexible here as Zed has no traits but TK is ideal as he synergizes with NOVA and can print you Zed 2. There are many duo carry options with Yi and Kindred being the easiest ones to play into at level 8. At 9 look to play Vex or Graves.
    • Stage 5+: Level to 9 and look for Zed 2 and 5 cost to buff your clones. Don’t play Graves after 5-2 unless you have a lot of HP.
  • Tips:
    • This comp is strong but very conditional. If you are low HP playing for Zed is very risky.
    • Zed’s clones inherit items in the same state as the creator’s, meaning if you have already used an item like Edge of Night the clone will not be able to activate its effect. This makes getting casts off as soon as possible the highest priority. If a clone hasn’t used Edge of Night any clones it spawns will also have Edge of Night so this isn’t based on the original Zed’s item state.
    • Do not build spell crit in this comp as Akali’s NOVA buff provides it.
    • Do not build Shred or Sunder as Aatrox’s NOVA buff provides it.
