Conditions:
- BIS Zed
- Ability to reach level 9
How to Play:
- Gameplan: Zed is now available in the normal unit pool and can be played in any game. Only play this if you have a spot with strong tempo and think you can get to level 9. Zed is a traitless unit that needs BIS to be consistent. Since Zed is traitless the only way to reliably buff him is strong 5 cost aura effects. This comp also wants to see an early Graves as that is the highest capping duo carry. Any duo carry can work with Zed.
- Stage 1-2: This comp is a Fast 9 comp that plays similarly to Vex Fast 9 with one major caveat, you need BIS Zed. Trying to play around Zed without Edge of Night and Shojin is a recipe for disaster.
- Stage 3: Think about your itemization at this point and how realistic it is to reach Edge of Night, Shojin + 1 mana item on Zed as well as your odds at successfully going 9. If you don’t think you can confidently complete both of these conditions look to pivot.
- Stage 4: Most of the time we are looking to lose on stage 4 and econ up to roll down on 4-5 or 5-1. This is only possible if we saved HP early game. If you did not, look to pivot into a 4 cost line on 4-2 but this decision likely had to be made earlier for the game to be successful as Zed’s items are not flexible.
- Stage 5+: Level to 9 and look for Zed 2 and 5 cost to buff your clones. Don’t play Graves after 5-2 unless you have a lot of HP or great items. Vex is easier to play around as a duo carry but caps lower than Graves.
- Tips:
- This comp is strong but very conditional. If you are low HP playing for Zed is very risky.
- Zed’s clones inherit items in the same state as the creator’s, meaning if you have already used an item like Edge of Night the clone will not be able to activate its effect. This makes getting casts off as soon as possible the highest priority. If a clone hasn’t used Edge of Night any clones it spawns will also have Edge of Night so this isn’t based on the original Zed’s item state.
- Do not build spell crit in this comp as Akali’s NOVA buff provides it.
- Do not build Shred or Sunder as Aatrox’s NOVA buff provides it.
