Here are best items for all champions for Set 17.
- Keep in mind some items are mandatory while others can be replaced
- Don’t itemize certain champions unless they are 3*ed, so some champs have items listed assuming you have either or both of those conditions.
- When do you want Artifact and Radiant items?
- These ‘upgraded items’ generally work best in comps that care about fewer units.
- If you have 4 tanks/carries, you need to get 12 items total to itemize them all. This is very difficult, so you generally do not need/want raidants/artifacts on them if you could have gotten more regular items instead
- If you have a comp that only cares about one unit, you’d rather it have 3 radiant items if you could sacrifice some of your items on your not important units
- Some units have unique interactions with Artifact items, which would make them very good
- These ‘upgraded items’ generally work best in comps that care about fewer units.
- Build can change based on your composition.
- Damage Example: Viego is built differently based on whether you are deeper into Golden Ox or Techies. Techies gives AP, which means if you are running 6+ Techies, you want your Viego to have Spell Crit, Lifesteal, Damage Amp, and Survivability because you get all your AP from the Techie Trait. If you are running Golden Ox which gives Damage Amp, you want to instead focus on building Spell Crit, Lifesteal, Ability Power, and Survivability because you get all your Damage Amp from Golden Ox.
- Tank Example: 4+ Strategist Neeko builds differently than 7+ Street Demon Neeko. Strategist gives Durability, so you want to build Health and Resistance items. With Street Demon which gives HP (along with AD and AP), you want to prioritize building Resistance items.
- Emblems, Pans, and Spatulas
- Should you always take Pans and Spatulas off of carousel or always take trait emblems? No!
- Generally emblems are only good if you play vertical comps. This means only use them when you have 6+ in a trait bonus or if the emblem helps you get the final breakpoint of a smaller trait such as 4 Dynamo
- Who are the best users of each Emblem?
- This is highly dependent on your comp. However, they are generally best on either a non trait unit that belongs in your comp anyways (IE, if you run 8 Techie and have 7 Techies in, whoever your 8th unit is will use the emblem at least decently) OR use them on almost any legendary unit.
- Should you always take Pans and Spatulas off of carousel or always take trait emblems? No!
This set is FLEXIBLE, so that means you need to build generic items in a lot of cases:
- Tank
- Pure Tank: Warmog’s, Dragonclaw, Bramblevest, Steadfast Heart, Gargoyle Stoneplate,
- Utility: Redemption (this can also be pure tank item), Sunfire Cape, Ionic Spark/Evenshroud,
- Mana: Adaptive Helm, Protector’s Vow,
- AP
- AP: Archangel, Jeweled Gauntlet, Nashor’s Tooth, Rabadon’s Deathcap
- Mana: Shojin, Blue Buff,
- AD
- Last Whisper, Rageblade, Runaan’s, Infinity Edge, Deathblade,
- Damage Amplification (Works on all damage types)
- Guardbreaker, Giant Slayer
- Survivability (for Melee carries)
- Sterak’s, Edge of Night, Crownguard, Quicksilver, Titan’s, Bloodthirster, Hextech Gunblade, Crownguard, Hand of Justice
Note: Tank items are flexible, as you normally just build ‘generic tank items’ or tank items that counter your lobby, but here are the options and when they should be built:
- Warmogs
- Good for tanks that get lots of resistances
- Redemption
- Good for comps with multiple melee units
- Steadfast Heart
- Good for tanks with methods to avoid the threshold such as shielding
- Dragonclaw
- Good against magic and AP teams
- Good for tanks with high health pools and need regeneration
- Bramblevest
- Good against physical and AD teams
- Adaptive Helm
- Good for tanks that have impactful abilities that cast multiple times per fight
- Protector’s Vow
- Good for tanks that need to cast their first ability as soon as possible
- Gargoyle Stoneplate
- Good for teams that have few melee units
- Evenshroud
- Utility tank item that is used with AD teams
- Titan’s Resolve
- Build this when you have a tank that can do damage too
- Ionic Spark
- Utility tank item that is used with AP teams
- Sunfire Cape
- Utility tank item for teams that need anti heal or wound
