TFT Comps Tier List Set 14
S Tier: Best TFT Comps – Highly Flexible or Very Strong
Leblanc Reroll
Leveling Pattern: 2 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Cypher Start with Leblancs
Item Holder:
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play: Explorer
Cyphers into level 6 reroll for Leblanc. Pick up other 2 costs along the way such as Illaoi, Ekko. Can go into 3 cost 3 stars such as Yuumi or Galio. Can also use Neeko as a tank
Items:
- Leblanc: Blue Buff, Manazane, Jeweled Gauntlet
- Nashor’s Tooth, Guardbreaker, Shojin
Core: Cyphers
Augments:
Econ/Lose streak augments
BoomBots
Leveling Pattern: Standard/Fast8
Requirements:
- Big HP and gold lead if going fast 9
- +1 BoomBot Emblem (if going 6 BoomBot)
- Big Econ to reach Urgot
Item Holder: Kogmaw
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: BoomBot (Vex, Mordekaiser)
How to Play: Explorer
Fast 9 is the name of the game now. Only attempt to play this if you have a lot of HP and gold. This can be achieved through winstreaking or by taking an econ augment and preserving health in Stage 2 and 3. Around Stage 4-1, you will be level 8 and will need to decide whether you need to roll on 8 or if you can go direct to 9. This is judged by item holder star level, whether you are contested, or whether you can make it to Stage 5 with at least 30hp. At level 9 you play for legendaries including Zac, Kobuko, Viego, and of course Urgot.
If you are able to get an Emblem, go for 6 BoomBot and you still need to get Urgot, which can be difficult as it’s 1 specific 5 cost unit. You need big econ for that, so an econ augment early game is highly recommended. Kogmaw can hold items in the early game. After that, fast 8 and roll for the comp or get Urgot off of carousel.
Items:
- Urgot: Guardbreaker, Last Whisper, Giantslayer
- Runaan’s, Deathblade, Rageblade
- Cho’Gath: Generic Tank
Core:
- 6 BoomBots
Augments:

A Tier: Solid TFT Team Comps. Weaker, less flexible, requires more luck than S-Tier
Cypher

NOTE: You do NOT have to play Cyphers, you can cash out and play any late game comp
Leveling Pattern: Standard/Fast8
Requirements:
- Cypher Start
- Cashout
Item Holder: Lose streak, no items
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Bastion
How to Play: Explorer
Get Cyphers early and get a lose streak going. Cash out on 3-7 or 4-3 (whenever you are less than ~25hp unless you really want to risk it). If possible get Player Life augmetns to prolong your streak. Try your best to take ‘good losses’ by killing a few units, but obviously prioritize losing over everything else in the early game. Get to level 8, do your rolldown, and play for Zed and Draven 3*.
As for Cashout requirements–if you committed to Cypher, if you get a ‘low cashout’ there’s not much you can do about it, so just cashout when your HP is low
Items:
- Zed: Infinity Edge, Hand of Justice
- Bloodthirster, Edge of Night
- Draven: Infinity Edge, Shojin
- Last Whisper, Red Buff, Giantslayer
- Zeri: Rageblade, Flux Capacitator, Hextech Gunblade
- Rageblade #2, Runaan’s, Pulse Stabilizier
- Sejuani: Generic Tank, but utility items are nice
- Renekton: Generic Bruiser items
- Sterak’s, Bloodthirster, HoJ, etc.
Core:
- 3 Cypher
Augments:

Leveling Pattern: Standard
Requirements:
- +1 Street Demon
- Many items (for Brand, Neeko, Ziggs, Samira)
Item Holder: Zyra, Varus,
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play: Explorer
You should try to play this comp when win streaking because you need to hit 4 and 5 costs to stabilize. The 7 Street Demon 4 Strategist board is fine, but 5 costs are better, such as Kobuko, Viego, Zac, Garen, Urgot and they are all good, which is nice for the late game.
Items:
- Brand: Shojin or Adaptive, Jeweled Gauntlet, Guardbreaker,
- Morello, Nashors, Archangel, Rabadon’s, Giant Slayer, Gunblade
- Neeko: Warmogs, Generic tank items

If you have 5+ without rolling or if you have a lesser duplicator, consider rerolling for Elise 3* at either level 7 or 8 depending on the pace of the game. If you do reroll, you can pick up Braum 3* as your tank.

Get Graves 3* and then power level for more Golden Ox and Divinicorp. If you have a lot of Jarvans, go for Jarvan 3
NOTE: You may need to skip a turn of rolling or leveling in order to hit your Golden Ox target because you need to maintain your interest

Leveling Pattern: Standard
Requirements:
- Blue Buff
- S+ Tier if augments such as Blue Battery, Board of Directors
Item Holder: Morgana
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Anyone
How to Play: Explorer
Fast 8 and roll for Vex and Sejuani as your main units. If you get a lot of Varus, get him 3*. Vex absolutely needs Blue Buff, so you should prioritize Tears on carousel. If you end up getting too many tears, they can always go on Sejuani for Protector’s Vow, Redemption, or Adaptive Helm, and it can also be used for your Varus. When you get a lot of 5 costs, play the 3 Exo version of the build as that uses a ton of different legendaries. You can play Viego, Aurora, Kobuko, Zac, Urgot, Renekton, Garen.
Items:
- Vex: Blue Buff, Rabadon, Guardbreaker
- Hextech Gunblade, Jeweled Gauntlet, Archangel, Giantslayer

Leveling Pattern: Standard or 2 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Lots of Nitro units without rolling (if rerolling)
- Reroll Augment (if rerolling)
Item Holder: Kindred
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play:
Reroll: Get lots of Nidalees and Kindreds early game. Go into a 2 cost reroll for Shyvana and Jhin. That means going to Level 6 on 3-2 and rolling for Jhin and Shyvana 2 to stabilize and then slow rolling for Jhin>Shyvana>Nidalee=Kindred=Naafiri. Since Nitro is there to boost the T-H3X, Jhin is a great carry to use since he will have both Marksman and Exotech after adding a few other units. Use the Exotech item on Jhin if it works for him.
Standard: Play around 2* Nitros early to stack the R030T and just play MF or Zeri carry depending on your items and play standard level.

FAQ
- How are compositions ranked?
- There are many factors, but the two strongest ones are how often they can be played and how strong they are when you get it. Think of it like frequency of being played combined with how well it can potentially do.
- I also rank them based on how often the best players in the world play each comp (top 10 players in major regions)
- Why isn’t XYZ Comp here?
- Probably not played enough, not strong enough, or maybe it hasn’t been discovered yet and will hopefully be added next week.
- It’s also impossible to fit every single variation of every composition on a tier list, so expect variations of these comps to do well too.
- I also add in different versions of different comps in the notes, so be sure to read through them! (For example, one synergy might have two different playstyles such as reroll or standard)
- [Legendary Unit] carry is the best in the game, where is it?
- It is not reliable to have a 5 cost carry as a composition because you will not be able to get a 2* Legendary consistently. There may be metas where there are ‘Fast 9’ comps, but these often use any legendary they can get instead of a specific one.
- What does Difficulty, Item Dependency, and Variance mean?
- Difficulty is how hard the composition is to play. Difficulty does not factor into the strength or viability of the composition but serves as a factor for new players.
- Item dependency is how important specific items are to the composition.
- Variance is the approximate placement range of the composition. For example, a consistent Top 4 composition has Low variance. A composition that either places 1st or 8th has a High variance.
- Does what composition I play matter?
- No. Playing TFT well matters a lot more
- I can’t get these exact items every game
- You don’t need perfect items or exact items unless specified in the Requirements section. Most of the time you just need ‘playable’ items and not ‘best in slot’ (BIS)
- You are wrong, XYZ comp should be in S tier and ABC player said this S tier comp sucks
- Everyone has different opinions. I try to take a data based approach by analyzing games from the best players in each region to combine all their opinions.
- At the end of the day, comp doesn’t matter much compared to just playing TFT well (rolling, managing econ, positioning, etc). If you check out the best players, you will see that each player favors different compositions yet they are all very highly ranked.
- When is this site updated?
- Every Friday
- Where can I learn more?
- There are many resources and players to learn from. I suggest starting at my YouTube channel and this website.
Knowing how to get better at TFT is much more important than knowing what compositions to play. Knowing how to play Teamfight Tactics will help you no matter what patch it is.
Tier placement assumes strong play. Refer to Difficulty metric before attempting to play.
