TFT Comps Tier List Set 12
S Tier: Best TFT Comps – Highly Flexible or Very Strong
Multistriker Reroll

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll or 2 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Lots of Ashe and Jax or Kassadin/Akali or a mix of them
- Multistriker Emblem or Press the Attack bumps it up a tier
Item Holder: Ashe, Jax
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Shen
How to Play:
1 Cost Reroll for Jax and Ashe. You can also go for Kassadin and Hecarim 3* later on as they are very powerful too.
Items:
- Ashe: Red Buff, Runaan’s, Rageblade, Infinity Edge, Deathblade, Giant Slayer
- Jax: Evenshroud, Protector’s Vow, Warmogs, Crownguard, (he likes early fight items like Evenshroud/Vow/Crownguard since he doesn’t live as long as other tanks, but generic tank items work too)
- Hecarim: Sterak’s, Bloodthirster, Titan’s
- Kassadin: Quicksilver or Banshees on someone to hit him with it is Mandatory. Healing from Bloodthirster is the best, but you can get it from an Augment too or a different healing item. Rageblade, Archangel’s, Titan’s Resolve are all good 3rd items or if you can get the Quicksilver or healing effect from somewhere else
- Akali: Edge of Night, Hand of Justice, Infinity Edge, Sterak’s, Titan’s, Quicksilver
Core:
- Ashe, Jax/Kassadin, 5+ Multistrikers
Augments:
Multistriker Augments, Reroll Augments
Ahri Reroll

Leveling Pattern: 1 or 2 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Heavy reroll augment/big econ OR lots of Ahri/Zoe/Poppy/Lillia
- Items for Ahri
Item Holder: Zoe, Lillia, Poppy
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play:
Do not level up. Reroll for Zoe>Poppy=Lillia (and Ahri) at Stage 3-1 at level 4 by rolling down to 30 gold. If you are 1 off of one of the units, you can roll a bit more to save HP and hit a 3*. Econ back up and slow roll at level 5. After getting whatever you can 3*, go level 6 and get Ahri 3*. If you have not hit by Stage 4-1, roll until you hit at least Zoe 3*. Level up play more Bastions>Scholar>Arcana and the other units in the picture above (Prioritize the units you get upgraded first).
Put tank items on Poppy or Lillia depending on who is 3*ed first. Leftover items on Ahri if 3* or Ryze/other tanks
Items:
- Ahri: Adaptive Helm x2, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Blue Buff, Jeweled Gauntlet, Archangel’s Staff,
- Zoe: Blue Buff, Shojin, Adaptive Helm, Nashors, Hat, Jeweled Gauntlet, Anything that gives AP or helps her cast faster
- Poppy/Lillia: Generic tank items
- Magic shred from Spark/Shiv is needed. Antiheal/wound is optional, but nice since Zoe is single target
Core:
- Zoe, Bastion, Arcana, Scholar
Augments:
Reroll augments, AP Augments,
Fast 9 Bastion

- Bastion +1 Emblem

- High HP or Economy
Item Holder: Anyone
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Milio
How to Play:
Save up a ton of money, go to level 9 at around 4-5, 5-1, or 5-2 depending on your gold and health and roll down. Xerath is the main carry. There are other fast 9 boards such as with Preservers.
Items:
Xerath: Shojin + AP/Jeweled Gauntlet
Tanks: Generic tank

Core: 6+ Bastion + Xerath
Augments:
High econ or leveling augments
Witchcraft Fiora and Ryze

Also see Flex Karma Fiora Gwen
Leveling Pattern: Standard Leveling
Requirements:
- Witchcraft Emblem makes it a lot stronger
Item Holder: Syndra, Nilah, Akali
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Witchcraft: Karma
How to Play:
Standard Level and try to fast 8. Roll for 4 costs (Fiora, Karma, Nasus, Rakan). Witchcraft Emblem is not required, but very nice.
This is essentially a flex Karma build. If you played around Syndra early game but want to pivot, this is a viable option as Karma can take all her items. If you also built bruiser items on Kassadin/Akali/Nilah, then you can go ahead and put them on Fiora. There’s also a Gwen Fiora version too.
Items:
- Karma: Blue Buff, Red Buff, Morello, Shojin, Rabadon’s Deathcap, AP
Core:
- 4+ Witchcraft, Karma

XP Augment, Item Augments, Combat Augments

A Tier: Solid TFT Team Comps. Weaker, less flexible, requires more luck than S-Tier
Reroll Mages

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Lots of Soraka and Seraphine early
- AP item start
Item Holder: Soraka, Seraphine, Galio
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Mage: Tahm Kench, Legendaries
How to Play:
If you start the game with lots of Sorakas and Seraphines and also have at least a tear and a rod, this comp is a no brainer to go for. Do not level up and save as much gold as possible while holding onto Mages for a small rolldown on Stage 3-1. Roll to 30g and then econ back up. Roll to 50g every turn to try to look for your units. ‘All in’ on Stage 4-1 for Soraka/Seraphine if you did not hit them 3* yet, and then econ back up, level up and go to level 7, and then roll to 50g for Vex every turn until you are close and then all in again.
Put tank items on your early game tanks then eventually transfer them to Vex. Vex 3 is nearly unkillable with 7 Mages. In your backline you want to focus on Soraka>Seraphine. They both want a mana item such as Spear of Shojin or Adaptive Helm. After that, Mages LOVE ability power, so Archangel/Hat are better than things like Nashor’s Tooth because Mages cast twice, so Ability Power is more effective on Mages than other units.
Items:
- Soraka: Mana item (Shojin or Adaptive), Archangel’s Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Giantslayer,
- Seraphine: Mana item, Morellonomicon, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Red Buff, Archangel Staff, Giantslayer,
Core:
- 5+ Mages
Augments:
Mage Augments
Spider Queen Elise

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Spider Queen Augment
Item Holder: Elise
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play:
Do not level up. Reroll for Elise at Stage 3-1 at level 4. Roll down to 30 gold. If you are 1 off Elise, roll another 10 gold. If you are far from Elise 3*, econ back up and slow roll at level 5. If you have not hit by Stage 4-1, roll until you hit Elise 3*. Level up play more Shapeshifters and the other units in the picture above. Get Jayce 3* if you want. If not, you can replace with Briar.
Items:
- Elise: Bloodthirster, Archangel +1 is Titan’s, Dragonclaw, Warmogs, Jeweled Gauntlet, among others
Core:
- 6 Shapeshifter
Augments:
Spider Queen, Radiant/Artifact items, Reroll augments
High Horsepower Lillia

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- High Horsepower Augment
Item Holder: Zoe/Ahri/Lillia
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Bastion: Anyone
How to Play:
Get High Horsepower Augment on 2-1. Do not level up, follow 1 Cost reroll leveling pattern. Always go for Lillia 3 star, but see what units you can realistically 3 star out of Ahri>Zoe>Poppy. You need 1 additional damage dealer from either Zoe or Ahri 3*. Roll down to 30g at stage 3-1 when level 4. After that econ back up to 50 gold. Slow Roll for your units. After you get a damage dealer and Lillia 3*, level up and add in bastions and scholars
Items:
- Lillia: Crownguard, Ionic Spark, Bloodthirster–pretty non-negotiable, but you can obviously use Artifact and Radiant items. Other items still work, but much weaker.
Core:
- 4+ Bastion
Augments:
High Horsepower, Bastion Augments, Radiant Augments
Zap Attack Blitzcrank

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Zap Attack Augment
Item Holder: Blitzcrank

If you are far from Blitzcrank 3*, econ back up and slow roll at level 5. If you have not hit by Stage 4-1, roll until you hit Blitzcrank 3*. Level up play more Honeymancy and the other units in the picture above.

Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Chrono: Morgana (Rakan before that)
How to Play:
Step 1, get Chrono Emblem. Step 2, fast 8. Step 3, get Camille any way you can. Step 4, place very highly. Make sure you have Blue Buff/Shojin on Karma and anti heal. Her third item does not matter. Throw random tank items on Rakan/Morgana and throw a chrono emblem on whoever you have (you can use a remover to move it to Morgana later). Magic shred is nice, and then throw whatever slammable item on Camille.
Items:
Karma: Blue Buff, Red Buff, Morello, Shojin, Archangel, Hat, Nashor’s, any damage/AP
Camille: Any melee bruiser AD item such as Sterak’s, Bloodthirster, Edge of Night, Titan’s Resolve, Quicksilver, Hand of Justice,
Core: Chrono + Preservers
Augments:
Trait Augment + any combat/econ
Jinx Wukong Reroll
Leveling Pattern: 3 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Lots of Jinx and Wukongs with good items
- A strong augment such as Category 5
Item Holder: Kogmaw, Jinx,
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Hunter: Smolder, Briar, Morgana
How to Play:
Get a big sign to go for Jinx. If you get Category 5 or Spin to Win, you can just hard force this. Important items are Stoneplates for Wukong and Rageblade + Runaan’s for Jinx. After that, you need some form of armor penetration and then you are good to go.
Follow a 3 cost leveling pattern which means you go to Level 7 typically at Stage 4-1 and then slowroll your gold by rolling down to 50g every turn. You might need to stabilize early in Stage 3 such as 3-1 or 3-2 especially if you have pairs to save life points.
Items:
- Wukong: Stoneplate x2+, Warmogs, Redemption, Evenshroud
- Jinx: Rageblade, Runaan’s, Last Whisper, Infinity Edge, Giantslayer, Deathblade
Core:
- Jinx Wukong + Hunter and Preservers
Augments:
Reroll Augment, Category 5, Spin to Win, Hunter Augments

Item Holder: Zoe, Ahri, Jayce, Poppy, Galio
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Nasus/Diana/Morgana/Tahm Kench/Nami
How to Play:
Emblem brings this comp up a tier. Standard level into a fast 8 and go for 6-8 Portal to stabilize. After that econ back up, finish 4 cost 2*s, then go 9 and play legendaries.
Items:
Ryze: Red Buff, Rageblade, Shiv, JG, Hat, Archangel, Shojin, Nashor, Giantslayer
Nasus/Taric: Generic Tank Items
Core: 6+ Portal
Augments:
1 Econ Augment then Portal/Combat Augments
Shapeshifter Flex

Leveling Pattern: Standard, Fast 9, or 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Shapeshifter early game
- Early Briar or Shapeshifter Emblem
- Briar can be obtained through fast 9 or off carousel if you are low HP
Item Holder: Shyvana, Nomsy, Tristana, Ashe
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Anyone
How to Play:
Have early game shapeshifter opener. If you have Nomsies, go for 3* Nomsy. If not, you can use Shapeshifters to go level 8 and play around Varus/Smolder. Shyvana is incredible at stabilizing the mid game, and you can throw Briar items on her to take you to 9. You will want to build tank items and some backline items. You can use Eldritch to complement the Shapeshifters and use Ashe and Nilah as your item holders. In the midgame, you must make a decision. Do you roll on 8 or 9? Rolling on 9 obviously is preferred since you can get Briar easier, but it will cost you a lot of health to do so. If you are healthy and good economy, go 9. If not, you must roll on 8 and use Varus/Nasus as your carry.
Another advantage of Briar is that you can get Briar with low HP and your Briar can get the low HP buff as she scales off of your missing health. Feed Briar if you have items for her.
If you get Briar, you can go 3 Eldritch with Nami as your backline damage.
Items:
- Tank Items (Nasus, Swain, Neeko): Redemption is the best shapeshifter item, Warmogs, Dragonclaw, Generic tank items
- Briar: Melee bruiser items such as Bloodthirster, Sterak’s, Titan’s, Edge of Night, Quicksilver
- Varus: Shojin, LW, IE
- Smolder: Rageblades
- Nami: Blue Buff, Morello/Redbuff, AP
- Nomsy: Infinity Edge, Last Whisper, Shojin, Giantslayer, Deathblade, Runaan’s
Core:
- 6+ Shapeshifter + some carry in the back
Augments:
Shapeshifter Augments,
Faerie Kalista

Leveling Pattern: Standard/Fast 8
Requirements:
- Faerie +1 (optional if doing 5 Faerie)
- Ability to fast 8 (strong early game/high HP or econ augment)
Item Holder: Tristana, Ezreal, Rumble, many others
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Faerie: Hecarim, Morgana
How to Play: Video Tutorial + 6 Game Replays
Standard level into a fast 8 and go for Kalista and Rakan as your main carry and tank. You do not need many items due to the Faerie items, so you really just need to build Rageblade for Kalista and have some sort of armor penetration either from Last Whisper or Evenshroud.
Katarina 3* is a good way to cap out the comp if you get a lot of copies of her, but it is not necessary all the time. If you see 5+ Katarinas without losing interest gold, then sure, go for it. If not, level up and throw in legendaries or more preservers
Items:
- Kalista: Rageblade (mandatory), Queen’s Crown, second Rageblade, Last Whisper, Red Buff, Giantslayer, Deathblade, Infinity Edge
- Rakan: Any tank item, Redemption, Gargoyle Stoneplate
- Morgana: Any tank or AP items such as Morello, Hat, JG, Warmogs, Crownguard, Redemption, anything

Item Holder: Syndra
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Any tank
How to Play:
There are two ways to play Eldritch–Nami or Syndra carry.
For Syndra, you will want to 2 cost reroll. You will want to get mana and casting items for Syndra as soon as possible so that she can start stacking. After getting her 3*, you will want to level up and add in as many Eldritch as possible.
For Nami, you will fast 8 and play 3 Mages to complement your 7 Eldritch. Make sure you have some form of Morello or Red Buff for Nami or Norra. Mana items help as well as they allow Nami and Norra to cast faster
Items:
- Syndra: Shojin, Adaptive Helm, Nashor’s Tooth, Red Buff, Rageblade, Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Archangel’s Staff, Blue Buff, Morello,
- Nami: Blue Buff/Shojin, Morello/Red Buff, Archangel’s Staff, Rabadon’s, Nashor’s

Leveling Pattern: 1 Cost Reroll
Requirements:
- Lots of Warwicks
Item Holder: Warwick
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder:
How to Play:
Follow 1 cost reroll pattern and make sure to put Warwick on the edge of your board because we want him to take damage. Twitch is the secondary carry and he has built in armor penetration, so we do not need Last whisper. Anger Issues is a good augment
Items:
- Warwick: Quicksilver, Titan’s Resolve, Rageblade
- Twitch: Any ADC Item
Core:
- Warwick + 6 Vanguard OR 7 Frost
Augments:

Sometimes you get Bard 3, but he is not the best carry, so you can also go for Jinx or Karma and then run a synergy unit for them instead of Arcana. This augment can only show up on Stage 3-2 by the way, so don’t plan on playing this at the start of the game.

Requirements:
- Sugarcraft Emblem is absolutely required
- Lots of item components
Item Holder:
Best Emblem/Spatula Holder: Sugarcraft: Fiora
How to Play:
Do NOT attempt to play this without an early Sugarcraft emblem. You should not aim to go for this comp, it should come to you, so if you start the game with Sugarcraft emblem from Branching Out, for example, then go ahead. Play safe and make as many items as possible and stay as healthy as possible. At level 8, hopefully you get to 6 Sugarcraft with Gwen, and then use the cashout to strengthen your board. You can also reroll at level 7 or 8 for Bard and Jinx 3* if you have a lot of copies.
Items:
- Fiora: Bloodthirster, Sterak’s, Titan’s, Edge of Night

Just make sure you have the right items for them.

FAQ
- How are compositions ranked?
- There are many factors, but the two strongest ones are how often they can be played and how strong they are when you get it. Think of it like frequency of being played combined with how well it can potentially do.
- I also rank them based on how often the best players in the world play each comp (top 10 players in major regions)
- Why isn’t XYZ Comp here?
- Probably not played enough, not strong enough, or maybe it hasn’t been discovered yet and will hopefully be added next week.
- It’s also impossible to fit every single variation of every composition on a tier list, so expect variations of these comps to do well too.
- I also add in different versions of different comps in the notes, so be sure to read through them! (For example, one synergy might have two different playstyles such as reroll or standard)
- [Legendary Unit] carry is the best in the game, where is it?
- It is not reliable to have a 5 cost carry as a composition because you will not be able to get a 2* Legendary consistently. There may be metas where there are ‘Fast 9’ comps, but these often use any legendary they can get instead of a specific one.
- What does Difficulty, Item Dependency, and Variance mean?
- Difficulty is how hard the composition is to play. Difficulty does not factor into the strength or viability of the composition but serves as a factor for new players.
- Item dependency is how important specific items are to the composition.
- Variance is the approximate placement range of the composition. For example, a consistent Top 4 composition has Low variance. A composition that either places 1st or 8th has a High variance.
- Does what composition I play matter?
- No. Playing TFT well matters a lot more
- I can’t get these exact items every game
- You don’t need perfect items or exact items unless specified in the Requirements section. Most of the time you just need ‘playable’ items and not ‘best in slot’ (BIS)
- You are wrong, XYZ comp should be in S tier and ABC player said this S tier comp sucks
- Everyone has different opinions. I try to take a data based approach by analyzing games from the best players in each region to combine all their opinions.
- At the end of the day, comp doesn’t matter much compared to just playing TFT well (rolling, managing econ, positioning, etc). If you check out the best players, you will see that each player favors different compositions yet they are all very highly ranked.
- When is this site updated?
- Every Friday
- Where can I learn more?
- There are many resources and players to learn from. I suggest starting at my YouTube channel and this website.
Knowing how to get better at TFT is much more important than knowing what compositions to play. Knowing how to play Teamfight Tactics will help you no matter what patch it is.
Tier placement assumes strong play. Refer to Difficulty metric before attempting to play.
