TFT Comps Tier List Set 8

S Tier: Best TFT Comps – Highly Flexible or Very Strong

Yuumi Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Yuumi is still the queen of this patch, very strong if you hit your units. *You really want Giant Slayer instead of one of the AP items because many comps are above HP threshold*

Last Week’s Rank: N/A

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

  • 3* Galio, Yuumi and Supers

Item Holder: Lulu, Yuumi

How to Play: Gameplay
For this comp you want to roll at lvl 5 above 50g for Galio 3, Nasus 3 and Gangplank 3 if you can, but Galio 3 for sure. Pick up Supers and Yuumi while you’re rolling down. Once you get Galio 3, level up to 6 to start rolling for your 3* 2 cost units such as Lee, Yuumi and Malphite. After you hit all your 3* units level up for useful units like Alistar + Sejuani. The least important 3* unit in this comp is Gangplank, so you don’t have to 3* him.

Items:

  • Yuumi items: Blue Buff + AP items and Giantslayer
  • Tank items on literally anyone else but Gangplank, but ideally Malphite

Core:

  • 3 Supers

Augments: Second Wind, Tome, Ascension, Cybernetic Uplink, Featherweights, Luden’s Echo, Jeweled Lotus, First Aid Kit, Mascot Crest

For Hero augments, Predatory Precision is better for Yuumi as a carry but Zoomies is fine. Galio augments are really good as well, especially the Safety First augment as it allows to stall even longer. Both the Malphite Hero augments seem good as well. Honestly this comp is just broken.

Counters

Taliyah Carry

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Taliyah was already sleeper last patch, but with the other comps getting nerfed, she’s now S tier.

Last Week’s Rank: A+

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Good frontline

Item Holder: Lulu, Lux, Kai’Sa, Zoe, Leblanc

How to Play:
This is a 4 cost carry comp so the ideal scenario would be to econ up and preserve HP to go fast 8. To do so, we have to optimize our early game in a way that will get us to level 8 without being on the verge of death.
An example early game board would be to play Gadgeteen early with Lulu carrying our AP items and Annie carrying our tank items. Annie will most likely be our tank for the entirety of the game. For our midgame we could add in Zoe, Leblanc and Sona as they are very good units that will help us save HP until we find our Taliyah 2*. Late game we can just add Taliyah for 4 Spellslinger and either add in 5 Star Guardian or 3 Star Guardian + utility units.

Items:

  • Taliyah items: Archangel Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Spear of Shojin, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade, Blue Buff, Morellonomicon, HoJ, Guardbreaker
  • Annie + Ekko items: Tank items

Core:

  • 3 Star Guardian 4 Spellslinger

Augments: Cybernetic Uplink, Axiom Arc, Celestial Blessing, Radiant Relics, Exiles, Battlemage

In terms of Hero augments, Stoneweaver is preferred because it boosts Taliyah’s damage significantly.

Counters

Kai‘Sa Recon

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
This comp is S tier this patch because of the Recon buff and the other comps getting nerfed. Look to reroll this comp!
NOTE: If you have 4 Recon, you do NOT need Jeweled Gauntlet. However, with the crit changes, excess crit just converts to more damage.

Last Week’s Rank: S

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Good frontline and Kai’Sa items

Item Holder: Lulu, Kai’Sa, Ezreal, Lux

How to Play: Gameplay
As with other AP comps, play strong AP openers like Gadgeteen or Recon Defenders with Lulu, Lux or Ezreal as AP item holders until you find Kai’Sa. If you have something like Shiv or Rageblade you can just use Ashe to carry these items until you find Kai’Sa. In this meta, since Threats are such good frontline and utility, you’d rather play them with Recon. If you get a Recon augment you can play 4 Recon instead of 3. This comp has a heavy focus on Kai’Sa carry first, then Vayne. Make sure you get good tank items/frontline.

Items:

  • Kai’Sa items: Rageblade, Statikk Shiv, Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Giant Slayer, Guardbreaker, Archangel Staff
  • Vayne items: AD + Attack Speed items
  • Others: Tank items

Core:

  • 3 Recon + Threats

Augments: Tri-Force, Double Trouble, Celestial Blessing, Jeweled Lotus, Second Wind, Pandora’s Bench, Cybernetic Implants, Cybernetic Uplink,

The best Hero Augment for this comp probably is Ezreal’s Raider’s Spoils. It offers a strong early game with econ and since you keep him the entire game it’s a free Ornn item. Both Kai’Sa Hero Augments are usable, Vayne’s Into the NIght augment is good as well.

Counters

Jax

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Jax is still S tier, though he needs a stronger board to win out. This is a very consistent top 4/5 but hard to get top 2 without highroll.

Last Week’s Rank: S+

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

  • Good Jax items

Item Holder: Any early game AD unit until you find Jax

How to Play: Gameplay
Possibly one of the simplest comps this set, all you really do is play Brawlers. Use early game AD units like Ashe, Kayle, Draven etc to hold Jax items until you find him. At level 6 try to play at least 4 Brawlers, 6 if possible. At level 7 you want to play 6 Brawlers + Soraka for Heart and ADMIN. At level 8 you add in any useful unit. Good ADMIN traits are +Health every turn and anything that gives team Attack Speed or Ability Power. Even +AD is decent for Jax.

Items:

  • Jax items: There’s two build paths:
    • 1) Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Quicksilver, Bloodthirster is the first BiS build
    • 2) RFC, Jeweled Gauntlet, Rageblade is the second build
  • Soraka items: Blue buff/Shojin + AP items

Core:

  • 6 Brawler

Augments: Scoped weapons, Battlemage, Celestial Blessing, Knive’s Edge, Thrill of the Hunt, Jeweled Lotus, Second Wind, Brawler Crest, Brawler Heart, Brawler Crown

Both Jax Hero augments are good. Cull the Meek (Renekton augment), Invigorate (Lee Sin) and Boxing Lessons (Vi) are really good as well. Soraka augments are takeable as well.

Counters

Duelists

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Very consistent comp. You really want to duo carry Zed and Vayne now.

Last Week’s Rank: S

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Locket of the Iron Solari on Nilah

Item Holder: Ashe, Kayle, Jax, Vayne, Kaisa, Ezreal

How to Play: 2 Hour Compilation | Gameplay
As of right now, the Duelist meta is 6 Duelists + Sejuani and a Hacker unit. Considering this, early game is pretty simple. Just play either 2 Duelists + strongest units or just 4 Duelists in Stage 2 depending on what units you hit/upgrade. At level 6, roll for 6 Duelist and for some 2* units to stabilize a bit. If needed, roll again at 4-1 for 2* Vayne and Nilah and maybe one Zed.

If you have full damage items (like Giant Slayer + Infinity Edge + Deathblade) I actually prefer Vayne to carry these items over Zed because there’s a good chance Zed will just get CCed and die whereas Vayne has a lot more safety due to being ranged. If you have Edge of Night + damage items though, Zed as 2* is a better item holder than Vayne because he has a lot more safety with the Edge of Night. The most important item in this comp is Locket of the Iron Solari because Duelists do a lot of damage, especially early game, and ensuring their survival will help you run over opponents early game.

Items:

  • Nilah items: Locket of the Iron Solari
  • Zed items: Edge of Night, Runaan’s Hurricane, Guardbreaker, Giant Slayer, Deathblade, Infinite Edge, Titan’s Resolve, Rageblade, Last Whisper
  • Vayne items: Giant Slayer, Deathblade, Infinity Edge, Runaan’s Hurricane, Guardbreaker, Spear of Shojin, Last Whisper
  • Other units: Tank items

Core:

  • 4 or 6 Duelist

Augments: Knife’s Edge, Thrill of the Hunt, Cybernetic Implants, Celestial Blessing, Radiant Relics,

Both Hero augments for Zed are very good. Into the Night is way better than Spreadshot for Vayne. Nilah augments are decent as well. In terms of 1 + 2 cost Hero Augments, the utility Kayle + Yasuo + Fiora augments are good. This comp is flexible in terms of Hero augments, you can take other utility augments like those for Sejuani if no other choice.

Counters

Samira

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
While still being item reliant, with all the top 4 cost comps being nerfed last patch, Samira jumps to S tier.

Last Week’s Rank: A-

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Last Whisper (100% required)
  • AD items and Healing item on Samira
  • Good frontline

Item Holder: Ashe, Kayle, Sivir, Senna

How to Play:
Since this is a comp that mainly comes online at level 8, try to play strongest board until 4-5 where you level to 8 to roll for your 2* 4 cost units like Samira, Zac, Sejuani and try to highroll an Aphelios as well. Early game is simple, can play recon units to hold AD items with Ashe/Vayne or Sureshot if you get Sivir + Senna early. If your HP is getting low, you are forced to roll at 4-1 at level 7 instead. Make sure you have a lot of frontline because without it, Samira won’t be given enough time to do damage. Frontline is flexible in this comp, can play Mech Sett/Leona instead.

Items:

  • Samira items: Last Whisper, HoJ, Infinity Edge, Giant Slayer, Deathblade, Rageblade, Runaan’s
  • Aphelios items: Deathblade, Infinity Edge, Rageblade
  • Frontline items on Zac/Ekko/Sej

Core:

  • At least 2 Sureshot and frontline

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, you don’t necessarily need a Samira augment, you could use more utility ones like Sejuani or Ekko, but both Samira Hero augments are fine as well.

A Tier: Solid TFT Team Comps. Weaker, less flexible, requires more luck than S-Tier

Camille Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

Very good if you get a Camille specific augment, otherwise it’s decent without it.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

  • Camille 3

Item Holder: Camille, Renekton or Wukong before you find Camille

How to Play:
Since it is a 2 cost reroll comp, ideally you reroll this comp at level 6 with as much econ as possible. If needed, roll down for upgrades at 3-2 if too low. If you get a hero augment for Camille especially Adaptive Defensives this comp becomes really really strong. If you hit a lot of Leblancs while rolling for Camille, you should duo carry Camille and Leblanc. If there are a lot of backline focused comps consider putting Camille in the Hackerim. Infinity Edge and Titan’s + one healing item is the standard item combo for Camille.

Items:

  • Bruiser and AD items on Camille like Titan’s Resolve, Bloodthirster, Hand of Justice, Infinity Edge, Deathblade, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade

Core:

  • 3 Renegade and 2 ADMIN

Augments: For hero augments, Adaptive Defensives is the better option for Camille reroll as it gives her a scaling shield that helps her survive much longer, whereas Hextech Retribution is solely damage, which might not help her survive later on in the game.

Counters

Ox Force Viego

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Viego is A tier now due to how much he needs to get online.

Last Week’s Rank: S-

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Viego Augment or AP Items

Item Holder: Renegades or any AP holder

How to Play: Gameplay
Fast 8 is usually the way to go since you need a lot of 4 cost units, but sometimes you can roll on 7 if you are super desperate.

Items:

  • Viego Items: Ionic Spark (I usually find huge damage increases on this vs any other AP item), Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon’s, Healing item (HoJ is good if you have JG, Hextech Gunblade, Bloodthirster, or healing augment), any ‘usable’ damage item such as Guardbreaker or Giantslayer can work too
  • Tank Items: Any for Ekko, Leona, Alistar

Core:

  • 3 Renegade, 2 Oxforce

Augments: Thrill of the Hunt, Ascension, Ox Force Crown, Ox Force Crest, Jeweled Lotus, Celestial Blessing, Portable Forge, Viego Augments,

Counters

Vertical Star Guardian

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

This is another variation of Taliyah carry, is strong if you can upgrade all your units but without Syndra and a strong frontline it may not cap as high as other comps. It’s only A tier because it’s hard to get to without Spatula.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

Good Kai’Sa AP items.

Item Holder: Lulu, Kai’Sa, Ezreal, Lux, Zoe, Leblanc, Taliyah

How to Play:
As the comp name suggests, all you really have to do is just play high amounts of Star Guardians. Start with Lux or Lulu Carry until you find Kai’Sa as your carry. Then you can replace Lux with Taliyah and slot in an extra Lux if you can. A lot of times this just becomes a typical 5 Star Guardian 4 Spellslinger Taliyah game, but if you can get an augment that gives extra Star Guardian (Emblem or Heart), try to play 9 Star Guardians as it is pretty strong. Tank could be Annie or Ekko.

Items:

  • Kai’Sa items: Archangel Staff, Rageblade, Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Giant Slayer, Statikk Shiv
  • Taliyah items: Archangel Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Spear of Shojin, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade, Blue Buff, Morellonomicon, HoJ
  • Annie/Ekko items: Tank items

Core:

  • Star Guardians

Augments: Star Guardian Crest, Star Guardian Heart, Cybernetic Uplink, Exiles, Celestial Blessing, Thrill of the Hunt

In terms of Hero augments, Taliyah, Kai’Sa and Ekko augments are all decent. A really good utility one would be Ekko’s Chronobreak, which freezes enemy units for 2 seconds after 10 seconds of combat.

Counters

Miss Fortune Anima Squad

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
MF and a secondary carry is one of the best comps right now because it’s very flexible.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AP items on Miss Fortune

Item Holder: Jinx, Lulu, Kai’Sa, Lux, Zoe, Leblanc

How to Play:
Miss Fortune (MF) is one of the most flexible carry units this set so she is heavily contested in high Challenger inhouse lobbies. There are many many ways to get to her, but a standard and simple way to navigate to her would be to play 3/5 Amina Squad early with Jinx carrying the AP items and then replacing her with MF later on. Another way would be to play Vayne and Kai’Sa duo carry, with Vayne carrying AD + Attack Speed items and Kai’Sa carrying AP items.

When you find MF 2*, replace Kai’Sa with her. She is extremely flexible and you can build a lot of units around her, but make sure your frontline is beefy enough. Because have multiple carries is very popular this set, you will want to put your AD/Attack Speed items on a secondary carry like Vayne, Belveth, Zed, Aphelios or Samira.

Items:

  • Miss Fortune items: Spear of Shojin, Archangel Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade, HoJ
  • Tank items on your frontline units.
  • AD/Attack Speed items on your secondary carry.

Core:

  • 3 Anima Squad, frontline units

Augments: Cybernetic Uplink, Axiom Arc, Celestial Blessing, Radiant Relics, Exiles, Battlemage

In terms of Hero augments, Bunny Mercenary allows MF to hit more units and survive longer to get more abilities in. This is better if youre desperate for board strength. Make it Rain generates a lot of gold, so if you’re high HP and have a stable board, taking this will give you the econ boost to go level 9 and add in powerful 5 cost units.

Counters

Lulu Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

After further research, it seems this comp doesn’t even need Lulu’s Growth Spurt augment. You can play it with almost any relevant 1+2 cost Hero augment because Supers is broken. This comp seems sleeper.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependence: High
Variance: Medium

Requirements: 3 Lulu items

Item Holder: Lulu, Annie

How to Play:
Like other 1 Cost + Supers reroll comps, you just roll for 3* Lulu and Galio at level 5 and push level 6 to roll for 3* Supers. Basically you play this comp if you have a LOT of natural Lulus early and no Yuumis. This is basically a less broken Yuumi comp but it is really strong if you hit early or have the Growth Spurt Lulu augment.

Items:

  • Lulu items: Blue Buff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Archangel Staff, Jeweled Gauntlet, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade
  • Galio + Malphite items: Tank items (you want an Ionic Spark)

Core:

  • Lulu + Supers

Augments: Cybernetic Uplink, Exiles, Celestial Blessing, Thrill of the Hunt, Ascension

In terms of Hero augments, Growth Spurt is better as it allows for Lulu to carry better, whereas Foster Growth is better for pushing levels and carrying other units. However, obviously both are good. You can take any Galio or Malphite augment as well.

Counters

Sureshot Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Solid A tier comp if you get early units/items for it.

Last Week’s Rank: N/A

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

  • Sivir or Senna 3

Item Holder:

How to Play:
Since it is mostly 2 cost reroll comp, ideally you reroll this comp at level 6 with as much econ as possible. If needed, roll down for upgrades at 3-2 if too low. Generally you don’t really play for Galio 3 in this comp and instead go for 3* 2 cost Supers and Sivir, then you level up to 7 to roll for Senna 3. You don’t want to play 4 Sureshot in this comp so Samira and Aphelios are not played. Add in useful units after level 6 whether it be Threats or utility 5 cost units like Urgot and Fiddle.

Items:

  • Last Whisper on either Sivir or Samira and then just any AD items on both and tank items on Malphite or Galio

Core:

  • 2 Sureshot 3 Supers

Augments: Cybernetic Implants, Think Fast, Loaded Dice, Celestial Blessing, Cybernetic Uplink, Second Wind

Generally you want a Senna/Malphite/Sivir Hero Augment, but if you get a Galio augment you can try to play this as well.

THREATS

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Usually the threats played are BelVeth, Aurelion Sol and Zac, is S tier if you have full items for both BelVeth and Aurelion Sol. This comp was A tier last patch, putting it up to A+ because of the A’Sol buffs and other top comp nerfs. Maybe sleeper strong.

Last Week’s Rank: A

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • BelVeth and Aurelion Sol items

Item Holder: Wukong, Camille for BelVeth, Lulu, Lux, Yuumi, Kai’sa for Aurelion Sol

How to Play:
You play your strongest board until you can get BelVeth and ASol, then start transitioning into a full Threat board. You can also opt to reroll Bel’Veth, Rammus and Cho’gath. If you hit 3* of all those units, that variation is S tier. Otherwise, you play BelVeth, Aurelion Sol and Zac. Zac can fit in any Threats variation because he’s good frontline. You add in Fiddlesticks later. comp becomes S/S+ tier when you get the augment Threat Level: Maximum.

Core:

  • BelVeth, ASol, Zac

Augments: Threat Level: Maximum

Counters

Soraka Carry

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Soraka is S tier, easy to transition into and caps out very high depending on the ADMIN variant and augments.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AP items on Soraka

Item Holder: Lulu, Lux, Ezreal, Yuumi, Kai‘Sa, Zoe

How to Play: Gameplay
Typically you just play Gadgeteen to get to Soraka, but you can play something like Recon Ezreal carry as well to get to her. Soraka items are important, especially Blue Buff so prioritize that if possible for higher placement. The core of the comp is Soraka, Leblanc, Zoe, Sona, and then frontline + utility units. You can and should duo carry Zoe + Soraka.
Another variation of the comp is vertical ADMIN, meaning you play more ADMIN units to get higher bonuses. Typically this is played when you get an augment that adds additional ADMIN, whether through emblem or Heart.

Items:

  • Soraka items: Blue Buff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Giant Slayer, Hextech Gunblade, Archangel Staff, HoJ
  • Tank items on your frontline units.
  • AP items on Zoe, AD/Attack Speed items on your secondary AD carry.

Core:

  • 4 ADMIN

Augments: Mana generation augments are good if you’re lacking in that department, Celestial Blessing is always good. In terms of Hero augments, Infuse is a good teamwide buff but if you have Blue Buff, it may be a little redundant for Soraka in terms of mana gain. Upgrade: Berserk seems good for damage because it’s basically an Ascension for Soraka so if you’re lacking damage, this may be better.

Counters

Gangplank Supers

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
If you hit many 3* units and have good Gangplank items this comp can become S tier, but it’s too reliant on having many 3* units to be considered consistent.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

  • 3* units

Item Holder: Gangplank

How to Play:
As with any other 1 cost reroll comps, you typically roll at level 5 unless your econ is very high after Krugs (50+ gold), then you can roll at level 4 at 3-1 especially if you already have a lot of Gangplanks naturally. You don’t really want more Duelists after adding in your Supers, it’s better to add in more utility units/traits such as Aegis and Brawler.

Items:

  • Gangplank items: Blue Buff, HoJ, Titan’s Resolve, Bloodthirster, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Giant Slayer

Core:

  • 3* Supers

Augments:

Counters

Zoe Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Zoe reroll is good but hard to hit 3* because she is a very contested unit.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Medium
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Morello Zoe

Item Holder: Lulu, Kaisa and Lux

How to Play:
Typically you play 3 Gadgeteen 2 Defender early game with Poppy, Lulu, Annie and Wukong with Lulu carrying Zoe items. At level 6 add in Star Guardian and Spellslinger, and play strongest board until level 7 where you look to stabilize with an Ekko and Zoe 2. You can try to reroll at 7 or level to 8 depending on your game state, you don’t necessarily need Zoe 3.

Items:

  • Zoe: Morellonomicon, Blue Buff, Archangel Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Hextech Gunblade, Jeweled Gauntlet

Core:

  • 2 Defender, 2 Prankster

Augments: Both Hero augments for Zoe are good, but the Double Bubble one adds a decent amount of damage onto her if you’re carrying her. Sleepy time is good for utility because it’s basically 3 Zephyr for carries because typically carries are the lowest hp units on the board.

Counters

Yasuo Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

Generally you play this if you get a Yasuo Siphoning Winds augment but it can be played somewhat consistently.

Last Week’s Rank:

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Low

Requirements:

Item Holder: Talon

How to Play:
Like with all other 2 cost reroll comps, you should reroll this one at level 6. AP items go on Yasuo, and AD Bruiser items go on Fiora. You play 4 Duelist 2 Ox Force 2 Aegis at 6, then you can replace the other Duelists besides Yasuo and Fiora with higher cost ones later on such as Zed and Nilah, and level up for Sejuani and Laser Corps.

Items:

  • Bruiser AD items on Fiora such as Bloodthirster, Titan’s Resolve, Infinity Edge, Deathblade, Giant Slayer, Last Whisper, Hand of Justice
  • AP items on Yasuo like Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Archangel Staff, Hand of Justice, Edge of Night (for survival)

Core:

  • 4 Duelist, 2 Aegis, 2 Ox Force

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, Edgelord definitely seems better than OX-ian Rage for Talon Reroll, as the 40 AP and mana gain is super useful.

Counters

Draven Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
This comp used to be very strong, but then Draven got a big nerf so it’s not as good anymore.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AD items and Healing item on Draven

Item Holder: Ashe, Kayle until Draven

How to Play:
Try to build up economy until 3-2 where you level to 6 and roll for Draven 2* and Jax + Wukong for Mech. Roll for 3* Supers as well. Since you’re looking for a lot of 3* 2 costs in this comp, rolling for 6 is ideal. Then you try to push levels and add in 5 mech once you find a Leona.

Items:

  • Draven items: Last Whisper, Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Deathblade, HoJ, Giant Slayer, Rageblade

Core:

  • 3* Draven and Supers

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, both League of Draven and Ruthless Blades are decent. League of Draven is better as a solo Draven augment and boosts his attack damage by a lot.

Counters

Ashe Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
While Ashe reroll can still be good, it can’t bounce back as hard if you hit your units late and have low HP.

Last Week’s Rank: S

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AD items on Ashe

Item Holder: Ashe

How to Play:
Another 1 cost reroll comp, you roll at either 3-1 at level 4 (if you naturaled at least 6 Ashes or if your econ is very high, like above 50g) or slowroll above 50g at level 5 for your Ashe and Reneketon 3*. Like most 1 cost reroll comps, it’s typically played with a Hero Augment for your carry. Afterwards just level up for useful units like Sejuani and Aegis units.

Items:

  • Ashe items: Rageblade, Last Whisper, Giant Slayer, Runaan’s Hurricane, Deathblade, Infinity Edge
  • Renekton item: Tank items or Bruiser items (like Titan’s Resolve and Bloodthirster)

Core:

  • 3* Ashe and Renekton

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, Corps Focus seems a bit better than Laser Focus. Laser Focus is a selfish augment that only boosts Ashe’s ability by 20% attack speed, doubled while her ability is active, while Corps Focus is a teamwide buff of 15% attack speed, doubled while her ability is active. It seems Corps Focus is just more overall value.

B Tier: Playable, but not Preferred. These comps could be strong if uncontested.

Wukong Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

Good comp if you get Wukong Hero augments, otherwise it’s ok.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: High
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AP and Healing items on Wukong

Item Holder: Wukong

How to Play:
Another 1 cost reroll comp, you roll at either 3-1 at level 4 (if you naturaled at least 6 Wukongs or if your econ is very high, like above 50g) or slowroll above 50g at level 5 for your Wukong 3*. Like most 1 cost reroll comps, it’s typically played with a Hero Augment for your carry. However, this comp specifically gets really strong if you can get the Cyclone Hero augment. Your objective is to get Wukong 3* as soon as possible and then push levels while taking advantage of your midgame to put in 5 Mecha with Leona typically at level 9 because it’s unreliable to find Leona before level 9.

Items:

  • Wukong items: HoJ, Jeweled Gauntlet, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Ionic Spark, Archangel Staff, Bloodthirster

Core:

  • 3* Wukong

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, Cyclone is by far the better option. It is the only Hero augment that solo buffs Wukong. When you’re playing this comp, the other units exist only as synergy bots to help assist Wukong as he is the raid boss.

Talon Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
This comp is B tier because it gets outscaled heavily and you need to highroll to do well with it.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty:
Item/Augment Dependency:
Variance:

Requirements:

  • 3* Talon

Item Holder: Talon

How to Play:
Simple 1 cost reroll comp, you econ up early and ideally go for this comp if you natural a fair amount of talons in your shops. Like most 1 cost reroll comps, if you have a lot of econ (above 50g interest) after Krugs you can roll a bit a 3-1, until 30 or 40 gold to find upgrades/more 1 cost units because the odds of finding 1 costs are better at level 4 than 5. Otherwise, you slowroll above 50g at level 5 and roll hard if you are getting too low/falling behind lobby tempo.

Items:

  • AP items for Talon, Edge of Night is nice to reset aggro

Core:

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, Edgelord definitely seems better than OX-ian Rage for Talon Reroll, as the 40 AP and mana gain is super useful.

Kayle Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
Because this comp is only playable with Kayle specific Hero augments, it will be B+.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • AD + Attack Speed items on Kayle
  • Kayle specific combat Hero augment

Item Holder: Kayle

How to Play:
Another 1 cost reroll comp, you roll at either 3-1 at level 4 (if you naturaled at least 6 Kayles or if your econ is very high, like above 50g) or slowroll above 50g at level 5 for your Kayle and Gangplank 3*. Like most 1 cost reroll comps, it’s typically played with a Hero Augment for your carry. Afterwards just level up to 6 to roll for the rest of your 3* Supers (Lee + Malphite).

  • Kayle items: Last Whisper, Infinity Edge, Deathblade, Rageblade, Giant Slayer, HoJ

Core:

  • Kayle 3*, Supers 3*

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, Divine Ascent is much better than RIghteous Range because Kayle is typically not a very strong unit, but with DIvine Ascent this comp becomes playable and she is a viable carry.

Nasus Mascot

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4
A good comp if you can get online, but too specific and augment reliant to go for.

Last Week’s Rank: B

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependence: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • Multiple 3* units for Supers

Item Holder: Lulu, Kai’Sa, Ezreal, Lux, Zoe, Leblanc

How to Play:
As with all other 1 cost reroll comps, you econ up Stage 2 and roll at 3-1 at lvl 4 if your econ is very high and/or you have 6 or more Nasuses. Otherwise, slowroll above 50g at level 5 for your Nasus, Supers and Mascot units. The goal here is to hit Nasus and your other 3* units quickly, then push levels to find Nunu to really let your comp snowball (no pun intended).

Items:

  • Nasus items: RFC, Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, HoJ, Giant Slayer, Quicksilver, Titan’s Resolve.

Core:

  • Supers + Mascots

Augments: Mascot Heart, Celestial Blessing, Second Wind, Scoped Weapons, Thrill of the Hunt

In terms of Hero augments, Stacks on Stacks is really good to help Nasus scale into the lategame. Otherwise, augmengs that provide durability are very good as well.

C Tier and Below: These are compositions that are weak, but if they are given to you, you might be forced to play them.

Jinx Reroll

TFT Set 8 Tier List - Patch 12.23b Meta Snapshot - Week 4

Last Week’s Rank: C

Difficulty: Low
Item/Augment Dependency: Medium
Variance: Medium

Requirements:

  • 3* Jinx

Item Holder: Lulu/Lux until Jinx

How to Play:
Typically you try to slowroll (rolling while maintaining your econ above 50g) 3* 1 cost Anima Squad units like Sylas and Nasus at level 5, then level up to 6 to try to hit Jinx 3* because odds are you’ll get a decent amount of Jinx rerolling for the 1 cost units at 5. Another way to play this is to level to level 6 at Stage 3-2, roll for 2* Jinx and RIven to stabilize, econ back up to 50g, then slowroll for Jinx 3* and RIven 3*.

Items:

  • Jinx items: Rageblade, HoJ, Archangel Staff, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet, Spear of Shojin, Hextech Gunblade
  • Other units: Tank items

Core:

  • 3* Anima Squad units

Augments: In terms of Hero augments, both Get Excited! and Everyone goes BOOM! are very useful. Get Excited! is a more selfish boost for Jinx and helps her pop off if she’s your main carry, but if you have multipled 3* Anima Squad units and perhaps a secondary carry like Vayne or Nasus then Everyone goes BOOM! is very viable in that instance.

FAQ

  • How are compositions ranked?
    • There are many factors, but the two strongest ones are how often they can be played and how strong they are when you get it. Think of it like frequency of being played combined with how well it can potentially do.
    • I also rank them based on how often the best players in the world play each comp (top 10 players in major regions)
  • Why isn’t XYZ Comp here?
    • Probably not played enough, not strong enough, or maybe it hasn’t been discovered yet and will hopefully be added next week.
    • It’s also impossible to fit every single variation of every composition on a tier list, so expect variations of these comps to do well too.
    • I also add in different versions of different comps in the notes, so be sure to read through them! (For example, one synergy might have two different playstyles such as reroll or standard)
  • [Legendary Unit] carry is the best in the game, where is it?
    • It is not reliable to have a 5 cost carry as a composition because you will not be able to get a 2* Legendary consistently. There may be metas where there are ‘Fast 9’ comps, but these often use any legendary they can get instead of a specific one.
  • What does Difficulty, Item Dependency, and Variance mean?
    • Difficulty is how hard the composition is to play.  Difficulty does not factor into the strength or viability of the composition but serves as a factor for new players.
    • Item dependency is how important specific items are to the composition.
    • Variance is the approximate placement range of the composition.  For example, a consistent Top 4 composition has Low variance.  A composition that either places 1st or 8th has a High variance.
  • Does what composition I play matter?
    • No. Playing TFT well matters a lot more
  • I can’t get these exact items every game
    • You don’t need perfect items or exact items unless specified in the Requirements section. Most of the time you just need ‘playable’ items and not ‘best in slot’ (BIS)
  • You are wrong, XYZ comp should be in S tier and ABC player said this S tier comp sucks
    • Everyone has different opinions. I try to take a data based approach by analyzing games from the best players in each region to combine all their opinions.
    • At the end of the day, comp doesn’t matter much compared to just playing TFT well (rolling, managing econ, positioning, etc). If you check out the best players, you will see that each player favors different compositions yet they are all very highly ranked.
  • When is this site updated?
    • Every Friday
  • Where can I learn more?
    • There are many resources and players to learn from. I suggest starting at my YouTube channel and this website.

Knowing how to get better at TFT is much more important than knowing what compositions to play. Knowing how to play Teamfight Tactics will help you no matter what patch it is.

Tier placement assumes strong play.  Refer to Difficulty metric before attempting to play.
